Every health junkie knows that turmeric is good for us. But how can we have it more often than drinking an expensive almond milk turmeric latte? I have an answer for you. This amazingly beautiful, pleasantly chewy, and most importantly easy af turmeric rice will help you to eat more of this super healthy spice every day!
I haven’t caught any cold yet *knocking on my wood table* this winter and I think the secret is this rice. I have been cooking this rice for few months now and everytime I can’t stop eating it directly out from the pot. It’s THAT good! What I love about this rice is that it also makes your dinner table a bit more colorful with this naturally bright yellow glow.
But don’t worry! This rice won’t have raw and strong turmeric taste. Once you open the lid of the pot you will have a touch of lovely earthy aroma in your kitchen. And here’s how to make this turmeric rice:
Ingredients – for 4 persons
Brown rice 300g
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp salt
a pinch of black pepper
1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
How to make it
- Prepare your rice and wash it well (at least twice) till you don’t see any mirky water.
- Add same amount of water as the rice (1:1 ratio) with turmeric powder, salt, pepper and olive oil.
- Put the rice into a pressure cooker (or an instant pot) and cook it on a high pressure for exactly 15mins. Once 15mins is passed, turn off the fire and leave it for 5-7mins more. Don’t let the steam out!
- Then open the lid, mix the rice well and enjoy! 🙂
We made bibimbap with the rice and it was just perfect for a cold winter day.
